Why Vonk
Science is not a list to learn by heart but a way of looking. When you get stuck you usually miss a picture or an experiment, not talent. Vonk starts from what you see happen and works from there to the explanation.
Four blocks, always in the same order
Why, See it, Get it, Do it. Then the misconceptions, where you meet it in real life, a safe experiment for home and a piece of history. Every topic shows what to know first and what comes next.
Exercises that never run out
Calculation exercises are made by a generator: new numbers every time, with the right answer, a hint and a worked solution. For the rest, a code picks from large sets of questions to choose, order and match. Thousands of exercises per topic are tested automatically.
Who makes Vonk
Vonk is made by Neal Van de Velde (nealvdv), who also made Draad, Ruit and Spoor. Questions, mistakes or ideas are always welcome.
Calm and private
No ads, no tracking, no required account, no streaks or notifications that make you feel guilty. What you can do is kept on your own device only.
What does Draft mean?
A topic labelled Draft is carefully written but not yet checked by a science teacher. The label disappears after that check. If you spot a mistake, let us know.

Vonk and Kaft
Vonk is part of Kaft, a family of learning apps with one app per subject. Part of Vonk is free, for the rest we ask a fair price. That keeps Vonk free of ads and tracking.

The learning path and the first 3 topics are free. For all of Vonk, you choose one of these plans:

Where we come from
Vonk is made from a Christian conviction: the world is worth looking at with wonder, and every child is valuable. The content itself is ordinary, honest science. Where faith and science meet, we are honest and respectful, without inventing conflict.
